I was playing around with the ICP-MS in the lab the other day, and I found that Coca-Cola ate lead right out of the walls of a glass beaker.
This was picked up by the ICP-MS instrument which saw the excess lead counts at 206, 207 and 208 amu (atomic mass units).
It made me realize that glass is not a solid... it's a LIQUID, and it's contaminated with trace amounts of lead!
